Spicer® Video: A New Twist on Universal Joint Assemblies With Victoria’s Practical Tips
Unisersal Joints are true multi-talents when it comes to torque transfer. Spicer’s aftermarket range covers nearly 100 percent of the U-joints used worldwide – from the agile Piaggio Porter to the enormous Caterpillar 797 off-highway mining truck.

With its fifth video from the Victoria’s Practical Tips series, Spicer puts a new twist on the various types of U-Joints. Known from the Victor Reinz® videos, mechatronics technician Victoria points out the details and special features of five types of U-joints:
- U-joint - staked type
- U-joint - outside circlip
- U-joint - inside circlip
- U-joint - outside circlip and block bearing
- U-joint - block bearing
The goal of the 3:36-minute long video is to provide an overview of the different types of U-joint assemblies and the respective ways of securing them. Made up exclusively of video sequences and detail shots, the tutorial overcomes language barriers, so it can be used internationally and is easy for any trainee and home mechanic to understand.
In the video, Victoria puts special focus on the specific fixing variants, including the staked bearing assembly process. In this process, the bearing bushing is pressed in and secured in a single operation; no additional securing elements are required.

Spicer original driveshafts components for heavy duty trucks manufactured in Germany are available starting in Q1, 2024. Additionally, the driveshafts will also be available via the ReadyShaft program from the beginning of Q2, 2024.

Dana Aftermarket Hosts Off-Highway Service Center Meeting in Italy
The Spicer® Off-Highway Service Center Meeting was recently hosted in Riva del Garda, Italy. More than 60 people from Dana and its EMEA Service Center Network joined the event held near the Arco facility.
The primary focus of the gathering was to strengthen the relationship between Dana and its Service Center Network, which has always been important for the Off-Highway Team.

Agriculture in Focus: Dana at AGRITECHNICA in Hanover from November 12-18, 2023
AGRITECHNICA is the world's leading trade fair for agricultural machinery. With 2,812 exhibitors from 52 countries and more than 470,000 visitors from 149 countries, the exhibition boasts a record result in 2023. Under the guiding theme of "Green Productivity", AGRITECHNICA underscored its claim to technical leadership with over 300 international events and conferences.
Dana presented a lineup of drive and motion systems that can transform the agriculture equipment. During the show, the results of the Tractor of the Year 2024 awards competition have been revealed. We supply a Spicer® suspended steer axle for the Fendt e 107 V Vario, which earned the top honor in the “Sustainable Tractor of the Year” category. We also provide high-precision shifting solutions for the McCormick X5.120 P3-Drive, the winner of the “Best Utility” award.

Victoria Video for the Ultimate Off-road Application: Ultimate Dana 44™ and 60™ Axles for the Jeep Wrangler
The connection is almost legendary: Dana has been supplying axles for all models of Jeeps since 1941. It all started with the Willys MB, the original off-road passenger vehicle, developed for the U.S. Armed Forces in World War II.
The Dana brand Spicer® offers solid performance axles and prop shafts for off-road use for today’s successor models, the Jeep Wrangler JK, JL and Gladiator JT: the Ultimate Dana 44™ front axle and the Ultimate Dana 60™ front and rear axle. These upgrades are configured for maximum all-wheel performance under extreme terrain conditions.
Installation Tutorial for the Ultimate Dana 60™ Axle
Known for her Victor Reinz® tutorials, mechatronics technician Victoria shows how to tune a Jeep Wrangler JL with Ultimate Dana 60™ axles in a new training video made by Spicer. Aside from the front and rear axles, she also shows how to replace the prop shafts, shock absorbers and springs.
The Ultimate Dana 44™ and Ultimate Dana 60™ axles are both direct bolt-in solutions for a genuine OE factory-grade fit. The high-performance axles also provide maximum strength and durability for vehicles with large tires and high ground clearance. The full-float design means that the weight of the vehicle is supported not by the shaft, but by the housing, yielding much greater load-bearing capacity.
The Ultimate Dana 60™ axle is the absolute non plus ultra for the Jeep Wrangler for ambitious off-roaders and professionals. Slopes, tilts, twists, rocks, sand or mud: the Jeep is unsurpassed for any off-road challenge with these American-made axles.
Dana sells many thousands of Ultimate Dana 44™- and Ultimate Dana 60™ axles to off-road enthusiasts each year. Replacing the axles theoretically shouldn’t be a problem for an experienced fitter, but Dana still recommends going to a specialist shop for off-road tuning.

Original parts only: Video Tutorial on Exchanging an Intermediate Shaft Bearing on the Sprinter
No original spare part for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is subjected to such a demand as the intermediate shaft bearing for the prop shaft. This is due to the extremely high strain in the daily delivery mode. In Germany alone courier services have delivered more than 13 million courier, express and parcel shipments a day in 2020. That totals over four billion parcels (source; BIEK).
With the improved Spicer center bearing, customers will be able to replace OE parts at a lower cost. The new center bearings for the Sprinter are available and in stock for our customers.

Jeep Club for an outing at the John Rock 4X4 trail in South Africa
Nestled between the Magalies Mountains, and a stone’s throw from Hartbeespoort dam lies John Rock 4X4 trail. There are three courses on this farm.
The first is man-made obstacles that can become tricky but suitable for both standard and modified Jeeps alike called “Die Slote”.
The second one is formed by mother nature herself and remains untouched by human hands. This is called the Eco Mountain Trail. On the drive up the Magaliesberg mountains the beautiful views of the Hartbeespoort Dam and neighbouring areas can be seen. There are wild Impala and Blesbok that can be seen on this part of the trail.
A great time was had by all while educating some of the Jeep Club on the Spicer offering.

global customers. Each kit includes all approved fitting hardware, including
Spicer® Wing Series® u-joints and bolts, and allows
customers a simplified, direct method of receiving necessary parts, while
ensuring total product compatibility. The kits also include comprehensive
torque instructions, which detail the approved torque fitting requirements and
installation guidelines for each product. By removing the need for separate
part orders, the process for ordering and installing Spicer products is
streamlined.
Customers are encouraged
to contact their sales account managers with any questions and for more

A cutting service is still available for a small charge if required.**
All tubing (subject to availability) will normally be available for shipment 2 to 3 weeks after receipt of order, tubing will be dispatched from our Györ distribution centre so can be consolidated with any other materials being shipped at the same time, thus avoiding additional transportation charges wherever possible.
*Standard bar lengths may vary ± 10% will be charged as 5.8 x 1 meter

Aftermarket Group Europe has launched a new Spicer® multipacking
strategy for its Györ Distribution Center in Hungary, with all part numbers
included in the link below packaged by 10 pieces and/or rounded to multiples of
10 pieces. Starting on Feb. 16, all new orders will be packaged utilizing the
updated system, and parts will continue to be invoiced at current unit prices.
Customers are encouraged to align their ordering practices with the new packing
method and to contact its sales account manager or customer service
representative with any questions or concerns.
